How much does the trip cost?
Thanks to the AMS, travel and accommodation are free for everyone. However, you need to buy a membership to join us for the trip. You can buy one here.
Buying a membership does not guarantee a ticket to the trip. Additionally, memberships are non-refundable.
People who are members at the time of their sign up will be given priority.
How many people are going?
We have booked 2 chalets, that can house 14 people each. So, 28 people would be going in total.
How are we getting there?
Our councillors are driving people over in their personal vehicles.
We are also looking for drivers who can drive a few passengers. We will cover your gas!
Where will be staying? What is the sleeping arrangement like?
Accommodations will be provided at the Manning Park Resort in shared chalets.
While the initial plan is coed living, we understand and respect preferences for non-coed accommodations. We'll do our best to accommodate such requests based on availability and member preferences.
The chalet sleeps up to 14 people, with 2 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and a central kitchen. The Living Room has a pull out double bed, full kitchen including cooking and eating utensils for 14. There are two bedrooms, each with a queen bed and four single beds.
What is the food situation like?
Food is your own responsibility.
More information on what you should bring will be provided to the finalized guest list.
The chalets have a full kitchen with utensils and cutlery. Coffee and tea is also provided.
Manning Park also has a dining room and a pub. They have vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options as well! You can find more information and look at their menu here.
Does buying the membership right now guarantee a spot on the trip?
Purchasing a membership does not sign you up for the trip.
You must register for the trip when the form is released on May 13th, 6pm PT. Spots will be assigned on a first-come first-serve basis. People who are members at the time of their sign up will be given priority.
Will there by hiking?
During the day, people are welcome to do what they'd like, provided they stay within the area or go with an Astronomy Club executive. So yes, there will be hiking, but you'll have to have at least one exec with you.
Where will the link to sign up be released?
The link will be available on our Instagram, Discord, and Website at 6pm PT on Monday, May 13th.
